Fox, CW make pilot orders

Fox has bought a comedy pilot from "Cougar Town" creator Bill Lawrence. Furthermore, the CW has bought drama pilot "First Cut" from "90210" co-executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman and CBS Television Art galleries. Warner Bros. Television and Lawrence's shingle, Doozer, is behind "Like Father," only one-camera comedy series concentrating on a parent or gaurdian-boy relationship that's loosely based on Lawrence's existence. It concentrates on an engaged, charming father who's only 19 years older than his adult boy. Lawrence will executive produce with Rob Ingold. They have two other comedy scripts being considered at ABC and CBS. "Father" joins all of the comedy pick-ups at Fox including Make the most of McElhenny's "Living Loaded" Mike Royce's "Little Brother," and Chernin Entertainment's "Ben Fox Is My Manny." "Cut" can be a dramatic series concentrating on a girl medical student who's glad to go away her nerdy past behind for just about any new beginning inside the adult professional world. Nevertheless the lately minted physician discovers that, sadly and comically, existence within the hospital where she works is equivalent to secondary school. Urman executive produces with Serta Jinks ("Pushing Daisies"). She's another script in consideration at CBS. CW has acquired four drama aircraft aircraft pilots: Greg Berlanti superhero hour "Arrow" a "Beauty as well as the Animal" reboot "Sex as well as the City" prequel "The Barbara Journals, and Josh Schwartz thriller "Cult."
